takes one of a KIND to do THIS!!!
Porsche was bought to be 'showed off' at car shows etc - 7 year old car with only 81 MILES on there! Kind of Insane to me to buy a high performance drivers car and not be driving it! See for yourself...is this anybody on these forums?!

Not a card I'd be interested in in any way. Similar in stamp collecting.. I value stamps that were applied to items that went through the mail and were canceled.. Those are real. The ones stored away in mint condition are not that interesting.

I hope the car gets used by the new owner. Winning show trophies is meaningless to me. It's the enjoyment you get every time you go out, even if its to pick up dry cleaning down the road.

The owner will probably have a heart attack if the new owner tracks it or uses it as a DD..... I can understand low miles and keeping it nice for a long time by easing off on the everyday use (I Know you all don t agree) but 81 miles... Well I guess the owner never enjoyed drivng it ?? It is nice to look at but.....

I DD mine so I really don't get the whole concours thing. But to buy a car and put 81 miles on it in seven years to win a trophy is like cheating to me. I would be much more impressed with someone that actually drove it and then detailed the car to win. That takes effort.
This is like the Rosie Riuz of concours.

that does add more perspective for me esp if money is no object.

Great story and a great hobby. Must be hard to give up a car like that. Obviously a great deal of time and effort was put into the car as an expression of the owners appreciation for the machine and his love of concourse events. As with many hobbies I'm guessing it had nothing to do with the money.
