how do I know that I locked my car?
#31
Well, if I have to do that, I might as well just insert the key into the key slot and turn it old school style.. then I know. The point of a remote key is to be able to use it 'remote'. Having some ability to activate a 'click', 'thunk', 'beep' or other audio sound when the lock system engages is a feature a lot of us owners would appreciate.

Thx.

That's a good question. I don't use that feature but I used it for a while when I first got the SmartTop for my 997 and I believe the sound is more pronounced/louder when locking/unlocking ( more like the regular dual tone horn sound ) than the weaker security alarm beep. If something is adjar you still get the weak security alarm beep. As it's been 5 yrs since I used that feature maybe someone who uses it regularly could confirm. If not I'll activate it and let you know what it does in both instances.

If i go a long time withoutdriving the car ( 2 weeks or soo) the button on the key will not open the doors or the trunk, I have to put the key in the door to open the car. Its almost as if the car goes into a hibernation mode??? Why is this happening????

Read you owner's manual - alarm system puts remote operation to sleep after 7 days of inactivity.
