how do I know that I locked my car?
I have my 997.1 for a month now. The key only has one button for lock and unlock. How do I know it's locked. I know with other cars, there's a separate lock and unlock button, so when I leave my car, I hit the lock button a couple of times.

And if you don't see the lights flash the door lock mechanism is loud enough that you can hear it if you're within a few feet of the car.

You'll hear a chime if you shut the car off but don't turn off your headlights. Thought I'd throw that in.

It is a bit of a PITA having just one button. Know this though... if you look the door, and then hit the button a second time and unlock it, the car will lock itself again if you don't open the door in a minute or so.
So if you're unsure if you locked the door, you can hit the button again and your car will only be vulnerable for a short time if you've actually unlocked it.

Yeah, Porsche doesn't make it easy.
i've added a SmarTop module which lets me know with an audible alerts when I lock/unlock.
SmarTop has other features which made it attractive for me, more so since i have a cab.

FYI. If you double click the lock button, the interior motion sensor is not set. That's in case you want to leave your pet inside. Back in the day, you could leave your children inside and no one would be concerned.
