Want lock/unlock beeps without costing $300, ideas

Any ideas brothers for the usual lock unlock beeps for our p cars without costing so much. We all know the smart top could do it for 300$ but it think thats too much if that is the only feature we need. Cant it be done with piwis programming? Or probably a jumper that connect the blinking lights to the horn?

Leave the glove box open.

That is why i feel that piwis programming can do it. The horn is already connected to the alarm system. With all the theft leaving the glove box open is temptation.

On the 996, you use to be able to push the silver alarm switch lever out of the way on the center console latch. Now the car thinks the center console is open and you got a beep when you locked the car. I have not looked to see if the will also work on my 997TT. The draw back is now you don't know if a door, boot, or frunk is open now too.

If PIWIS could do it, someone would have been done it 6 years ago.

Don't think the 997 center consol cover has the same mechanism as 996. You can leave the 997 consol cover open and no beep on lock.

What about glove compartment? Surely there's just some switch you can tweak to make it think it's open.

You can get any small aftermarket 12 volt piezo buzzer and just connect it to the lights. It'll buzz or beep accordingly. 15 minute job.

If you or anyone has done this, will you please post some specific directions. For example where precisely to wire in the piezo piece (to the fogs?) - pictures would speak 1000 words. Any recommendations of piezo buzzer/alarm to use?

That would also make your car buzz and beep every time you use your lights

Pressing the lock button just before you close the door will make it beep too. Just no beep when you unlock it.

does the horn and/or door locks have separate fuses? connect them together somehow? assuming you seldom use your horn while driving and seldom lock/unlock unless parking the car, etc...
