Keep it Classic or not?

In some ways i do agree with the op specially on pcars. I was torn between modding and staying classic too sometime ago but when the bug bites you just have to give in lest you suffer sleepless nights. In the end, the best look will be the classic look, its the look that endures and stands the test of time. But everyone gets sick when the bug bites

Before I bought my 997, I was looking for a nice 911 classic air cooled, and after searching I found that many of the cars of that time (era) they have been abused and upgraded to newer version (turbo looks, whale tails, wide body kits, slang nose etc), almost all the sealers try to argue the good looks of they're cars, but being sincere the look awful and for me they destroyed all that classic look that is very difficult to maintain in most of the brands, for us P owners we still have that special classic thing!! For that I am undecided to upgrade moods to my car, for example looking into this great forum, most of you make moods into your cars and in my opinion look great, but some others they don´t, what will be on those they look great now, how time is going treat them?, do you think carbon fiber (rice look) is going to look in 20 years from now, or those with orange hoods and big spoilers!! I think they will say "what they where thinking about".
Mine is a 997.1 original rear clear light and in the front, do I upgrade to leds, do I change my wheels to 20" on concave wheels, or do I stick with the original ones. My cars looks beautiful she is gorgeous its a Porsche do we really have to modify something on our cars develop by the best engineers in the world. I think I will prefer to stick to classic, maybe time will tell like so far and in this case, I will save some money for track days on tires and brakes.
what do you think?

To each his own though!

Keep it classic!
I've got a slight touch of the mod bug, but like the OP, I'm trying to keep all my mods tasteful and within Porsche's original scope for the 997. While I like a touch of carbon for some added sportiness, most of my interior upgrades have been Porsche OEM leather. I agree that going overboard on the carbon can make it look too JDM import tuner like.
For the exterior, I've done nothing! I've thought about going with the 997.2 LED aftermarket look alike lights for my 997.1, but decided against it. I want to keep my 911 the way Porsche designed it. I'd rather have OEM parts from Porsche vs. aftermarket parts from god knows where.
And I keep all my original parts, so I can restore it to a 100% pure form if I want to.
