Can I drive my car ???

Hi all ,

I was going to add oil , and when I tried to open the oil cap I broke the oil filler tube
My question is can I drive the car just to fix it ? And is it DIY job to Change the tube ??

Appreciate your help ,,

No I would not want to drive it!DIY at home or have it towed!

So I will get the part and try to DIY or try to bring the mechanic to fix it @ my home

Wow . . That is the dirtiest Porsche motor compartment I've ever seen. I think he takes it off road. A "nice bath" might not be enough.

That is what I was going to say.

That really sucks, hope it is an easy fix, doesn't look to difficult, was it just a clamp or something holding it on?

After I had the pic I realized that the engine is so dirty And I knew that u gonna complaint about it , at least I have the dirtiest engine
Indeed it need a deep bath ,
In the past 2 days we had sandstorm and it rain after that ,

It should be pretty DIY friendly as long as you can get the alternator out of the way. That rear bushing can be a pain sometimes. Good Luck!

Buddy of mine changed the oil fill tube on my 996 after it broke.

Big pain in the *** to get to the engine block where it connects.

He removed the belt and alternator I belive for better access? Unless you're handy you have no chance for DIY fix

Your car will probably throw a cel if you drive it, not the blinking don't drive kind but the steady something is wrong type.

Best would be a tow. Not my best idea , but absent of a tow if you could try to cap the tube with something like duct tape... But that's pretty ghetto, I know.
