Purchased/mounted new Michelin Super Sports (235/35 & 295/30) yesterday locally for $1290 out the door. No fancy touchless mounting but the guys were very careful and not one scratch. My car may have just been the first Porsche ever there, but the owner oversees the operation personally and is very professional and super nice. His price was the one he quoted and I saw no need to haggle.

So this is my second set of Super Sports. First set for this car. Mounted them on my 997.1 2 years ago. Ride and grip greatly exceed my PS2s with 21K miles.

How in the world were you able to get PSS's + labor for $1290 OTD? Sounds like an incredibly good deal to me!

Also, what speed are the PSS's rated at? I know they are not N-rated like the PS2's.

PS2 and PSS are both Y speed ratings.

Just looked for a Michelin retailer online, called up the shop and the owner/operator gave me the $1290 quote total OTD. So I jumped on it as it saved me lots of hassle with ordering, shipping, etc. He placed the order to his distributor and they arrived the next day so I drove over, 45 minutes later I had new Michelin PSSs mounted up. Very easy and fair price. I did try to see if my local Porsche dealer would do something reasonable on a set of PSS and they didn't seem to want to participate. I gave them every opportunity. Oh well.

Awesome...excuse my ignorance, but what does the N-rating symbolize then? The dealer seems to make a huge deal about N-rated tires on their cars only!

Wow man, I ought to try this myself when the time comes for my car, which will be in a few months - my only concern is: will the shop that gives me the best deal have the proper equipment to handle the wheels without mishaps?
