what colour wheels are better?

In the last few yrs black has become almost a fad.....definately the choice if you are going for the tougher look or the understated look.
I made up this car a few yrs back for my wife as an anniversary gift.....the whole idea was to make it pretty and sharp. The car is GT Silver, the roof Stone Grey.
So the wheel center is custom painted as a contrast to body & coord w/top. The GT wheels have the brushed and cleared rim of course. Interior barrels painted black.
It worked on that car.
At the end of the day, wheels are very personal. They should please you.....the heck w/anyone else.

Since I just bought a set of HREs with black centers and polished lips, I have to vote for the black. The issue with Arctic Silver cars is that silver rims are just a shade off usually, but offer zero contrast. I have/had stock lobsters and really like the design, but the color was bland on a silver car. Any other color and I might have stuck with the lobsters. The black centered/polished lip HREs are finally going to set the car off perfectly. I do agree, though, that a solid black rim does give that race inspired/purposeful look and I'm not always a fan - depends on the rim design. That's where I think the polished lip is so important. Wish I could post pics to illustrate, but their in the garage right now and not yet mounted.

I'm a fan of black. But if you keep the silver rim, then I believe the inside of the wheel would also be silver. You should look into that. I have black wheels, silver rim on my Boxster, but I have to say I prefer the completely powdercoated wheels on my 911. Love the black with silver rim, just don't know how you get a great paint job without leaving the inside of the wheels silver as well.
Maybe someone can enlighten me.

Whats a good wheel that is both decently priced and low weight (same or less then stock)? Obviously this is subjective but price range would be up to 2500 $ a set and would need to look oem ie not too aftermarket?

Used, keep your eye out in the Classifieds. I bought my favorite Factory Wheels with tires (50% Tread or so) for $2000 shipped.
