997.2 steering wheel on a 997.1?

Can this be done? The purpose would be to have paddle shifters vs. the button shifting on my triptronic.

Yes, it definitely can be be done. I just did it a few days ago.

But......it's fairly expensive, as you'll also need to upgrade your steering electronic control module to the 997.2, otherwise your horn won't work. That upgrade is another $600 to $800 (if not DIY), on top of everything.

I'm looking to switch out my triangle multifunction wheel for a GTS sport wheel. Definitely not a cheap upgrade but I think the steering wheel has arguably the largest impact to a cars interior.

Agree. The 997.2 wheel is so much nicer.

fastm3, can I ask what the total package cost you?

Mine car is a 997.1.

I did:

Suncoast Pedals
Bumperplugs painted console/mirrors/door spears
Carbon fiber from DB carbon on doors, console lid, ignition, door pulls, side center dash and more
Rennline aluminum mats with 3M clear bra
2012 997.2 Steering wheel/airbag
2013 997.2 PSM/Sport switch panel
PCM deleted and using an iPad mini
Painted center dash by bumperplugs...

And some other stuff that you can't see... like the carbon fiber X51 airbox, GT3 TB, 84mm Plenum and 200 cell X pipe cats and muffler delete.

My '09 manual has http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...e=997s6spe2009

and I want to go to this http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...e=997s6spe2010

I know I'd need a new air bag.

1) What do you think it will cost me to do this start to finish?

2) What do you think I can sell my current wheel and airbag for?

Jason

Apparently it's a hit or miss proposition. Local techs weren't able to get it to work on my 997 C2S. They weren't able to program the module I purchased from dealership. Apparently, there are some 997 turbo owners in Greece that have been able to do it. If you can find a person locally who's successfully done it, I have the almost new wheel and airbag for sale. I'll thrown in the module once I get it back from a forum member who's been trying to get it work. PM me if you're interested.
