Has anyone ever had this happen? I dont use the back seat at all for anything and rarely put it down to create the shelf. The leather separated from under the handle used to lower the backrest.

I am hoping this is a warranty issue because i haven't touched it in weeks and it was fine yesterday when i was oggling my car so it just came loose by itself.

If your car is still under warranty, it doesn't hurt to see if the dealer will fix it for you.

I had an area become undone on the backside of the front seat and they fixed it. Never seen this area, however.

 

It really is weird. From what i can tell the leather just slipped/separated out from under the black handle which now seems loose and is squeeking when drawn forward. I will be taking it in for a look soon.

 

GL, let us know how it goes. The dealer did not ask any questions with my issue and just fixed it FWIW.
