One more Dumb question - How to tell if you have PCM2 or PCM2.1?
Is there a visual way to tell if you have a PCM2 or PCM2.1? My vehicle does not accept DVDs, only CDs. Does that mean I have PCM2, or is that not an indicator?

I believe all 997's from 2005 to 2008 have 2.1 PCM units. If your PCM has the telephone (SOS Button) feature then I believe it has hardware for mp3 CD playback. No 997 PCM accepts DVD's; strickly CD's.
