Good luck. It is not unusual to leave key in the car actually since valet lots are usually monitored.

Get an AR-15 with lots of 30 round magazines.. dress up in Ninja black, camo your exposed parts, and go back one night and shoot everything that moves..

J/K... You're on the right track.. let the lawyers do what they get paid to do.

However, some people do need killin'.. thieves are at the top of my list.

Do you have an update? What did your insurance company say? Have you actually pursued this further with the lawyer? Give us a current update, please.

Hey Guys this is whats going on....

My Home Owners policy issued a check for the missing laptop etc.....

The Auto insurance with GEICO....The Estimate is 15k....Thats just the estimate from the adjuster when he looked at the car....The Car got to the Body shop at RECTOR AUDI and they will do the tear down to see how much more damage there is....I told the adjuster I don't want the car anymore...As the car fax now indicate a wreck, theft and theft recovery...He doesn't understand that the market for an S6 is pretty lucrative....We'll see what happens....But I will push to get the car totaled....

Spoke to an attorney....She said I can collect what ever insurance doesn't pay me from the Casino and that we do have a case as far as negligence....

Thats about it for now...I'll update this as I get more info....Last thing was I manage to scrap most of the Drivers side Tech art skirt on the 997....Just been really stressing over stupid GEICO's handling of the claim...Especially when they know there going to collect all the cash from the Casino's insurance company....

Make sure you let the insurance company know ahead of time that you want reimbursement for devaluation of your vehicle due to the incident. Once they factor that in it will put your vehicle closer to a total loss, only helping your chances.

As far as the casino goes I would lawyer up but only to let them know they mean business. Take what you can get with out pursuing matters and use it as an added bonus/buy down the car if they don't total it.

Best of luck

Perfect example of why I avoid the valet at all costs, I just have zero trust for them, I rather pay extra and park my car myself and keep my key. Good luck on resolving your situation, I think the casino is liable and since there is a police report dealing with insurance shouldn't be an issue and getting a replacement. Also, you mentioned that you suspect it could be an inside job, I would think if this is the case then this isn't the first time this has happened and may be a pattern, something worth checking into. Anyway, good luck with a replacement, sorry your trip was ruined. I live in the bay area and play live poker at least once a week, note to self, avoid cache creek.

The Latest is....That the car is still at the Audi Dealer going thru its tear down....Before They tore it down I was told to add 8k to the Insurance's estimate of 15K.....As the insurance didn't add the following:

New Dashboard
New Seat
New Center console
New MMI Navigation Unit
New Steering Wheel

So this is without the tear down....I'm just really hoping they total out the car....I really don't want a car that's

1) Been T-Boned
2) The Car Fax indicates all on the same date:
Stolen
Theft Recovery
Collision

So hopefully the teardown shows a lot of frame damage....I'll post pictures in a few minutes...

For an insurance co. to total a car out, you'll need to exceed 70% of it's retail value in repair costs.

So, assuming your car has a value of $45k, you'll need to exceed $31k in repair costs for the insurance co. to total it out.

Good luck. I had a car hit a few years ago and I prayed it would be totaled. Luckily it was, and that's what got me into my 997. :-)

I hope the insurance company total the car for you, it'll be nearly impossible to sell it in the future w/o giving it away.

Hey Guys so here is whats going on....I would appreciate any input you may have....GEICO sucks....They've taken a month to get this wrapped up....I had to track down the Head of California to get the ball rolling for the settlement....There offering me 42,069 which includes the sales tax basically 38k....But if I look at autotrader to get an equivalent Audi S6 there are only two on the market in all of the USA with an Average price of 44302.00 plus shipping of 1509.00....The price of 42069.00 from Geico doesn't factor in the Audi 20" S8 rims and the Winter 18" rims/tires along with the millitek exhaust at which all account for a total on 10k...Basically the guy I spoke to today was pretty set in giving me the 42069.00 and I told him that wasn't enough to get me into an equivalent car due to the rarity of the S6....I'm not sure what I should do or what angle to take as I totally don't agree with the price being offered...

Lastly we did lawyer up against the Casino and they are in the process of submitting a written offer to them....I will keep you all posted on the settlement and would appreciate any assistance in trying to deal with this adjuster....

Stealing from casinos is obviously a criminal offence and it will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, which will usually involve a hefty fine and / or a prison sentence. Casinos are keen to use it as a deterrent and are therefore unlikely to show leniency.

The other angle you might try with the casino is social media. I doubt they'll want that kind of negative publicity.
Also, why are we talking about an Audi S6 on the 997 forum again?

Ahahah, the likelihood that a parking lot is fired is 100 percent. Honestly, I will not even be surprised if it turns out that this is a planned theft. This is likely because parking people are not so stupid. Just imagine how many cool cars there and it could be a cool business. Perhaps this is really an accident and I'm wrong. In any case, I am categorically against gambling. My brother, unlike me, loves playing in online casinos and he spends 8 hours a day in online casinos and plays in game online. I would be against it, but he brings real money and this is his main income, so I'm not going to ban him from it.
