Has anyone switched over to a PDK from manual and thought, why in the $#& did I do that? By the way, to add after the initial reply to my post, I live in the NY metro area, so traffic is an ALL THE TIME thing.

Not me, but unless I lived in a location with really heavy traffic congestion, I would stay with a shift it yourself at least until my left leg falls off. I've had a couple of short drives on PDK cars and it is just not for me. But it is a purely personal choice and there is no right or wrong choice.

if you decide you made the wrong choice and want a 6 speed call me and I ll trade you mine.
I enjoy the 6 speed but you ll be fine. I am in the country (NY) and not the city so maybe that s why.

My last four cars have been: manual, PDK, manual, PDK. I don't regret any of them.

Manual 997.1 S to PDK 997.2 S. Both fun. PDK in manual mode using Sport or Sport Plus is a lot of fun. Must ensure you have paddle shifters to truly enjoy it.

If traffic is so bad, why bother with a Porsche? LOL. Even here in Southern Calif, I have to get
up early on Sat / Sunday in order to avoid traffic rev up my 997. No Fun!

Well, I want a sports car and I don't use a car to commute to work. Once I get away from my home in Hoboken, the roads can open up and I can have fun. It's just getting stuck in bumper to bumper going out or coming back home that sucks.

did you test drive one?
I would have taken a demo from the dealer and told him that you need it for an hour or so to send the salesman w you. If they know you are a serious buyer they should do it, or you should have done it.

I live in Southern Indiana , drove my 997.2S to Chicago once and said to myself , if I lived in Chicago and had to do that traffic daily, I would either drop the P or get one with a pdk

Yes, I have one on order and they are also looking to see if they can find one similar enough for me.

If you post this in the 991 section, you may get more feedback on the 991 with the PDK. But i have never heard any complaints about the PDK.

I'm sure they would have a different TCU program for the GT3 that would hold gear longer even in the most benign transmission setting.

I love my PDK since I don't think I can shift for **** after a long night of call at work. I just wished Porsche programed the PDK shift points a little higher when the car is in normal mode.
