Replacing Battery - Any Special Instructions?

So I'm going to change the battery that appears to be the original one that came with the car in '07 (yikes!). It's definitely taking longer and longer to start the car, especially with the cold weather.

I was wondering, are there any special instructions I need to know before changing it out? I know with my E90 M3 I had to keep a charger on the car's jump points so I wouldn't mess any of the settings up, etc.

Which battery should I replace it with?

Thanks, chaps.

Disconnect negative terminal first and reattach last. No codes to worry about all that needs be done after the reinstall is window memory. Run em up and down a couple times and the memory will return. It's in the owners manual. Any codes you get on the dash will disappear after you drive off in a minute or less. As for battery types , battery must be vented and reverse terminal type. Who ever you buy the battery from will be able to advise.
As for which battery to get... do a searce on this forum and you'll get lot's of advice.
I replaced mine with an Autozone Duralast Gold and have had no issues with it.

Replacement choices have been discussed ad nauseum - search and you'll get all sorts of recommendations and proper size.

Thanks for the help, guys. I've never changed the battery in a 911 before, so this should be eventful. It can't possibly be any more annoying than doing so in an ///M car. A 60-70 lb battery literally stuck in a tiny whole in the trunk, and no room to put your hands to pull it out, makes for a very angry time.

Just did mine, bought at Wal Mart. Less than half the cost of oem.

Just be careful when you lift. I find it easier on the back to stand in the trunk to R&R the battery.

No joke!. Some years ago I replaced the battery in an '06. The battery is very heavy, and I'm trying not to lean on stuff or DRAG the battery out of its hole, but it's located in the middle of the car. You have no leverage! I didn't know standing in the trunk was an option, but next time, that's what I'll do.

Thanks for all of the help, guys! I really appreciate it.

I definitely know that the trunk will hold my weight, as I've had some fun in a 991 I had as a press car back in January.
