5 more days
5 more days till the "law" allows us to pull out cars without winter tires in Montreal. (It is illegal between Dec 15 and March 15). Which is fine, because i don't usually drive it when there is excessive snow/salt on the ground.
The real question is whether or not I should wait till the roads get fixed, as is usual following the winter destruction imposed on them by winter.
Or maybe ill just drive around the neighborhood,
or maybe just a few trips down the closest highway.
Or maybe i need help.
Its been a long 3 months.

get out.. I did yesterday too as there is no snow on the roads but lots still left in the woods. It was the first time I ever went snowmobiling in the morning and took the Porsche for a ride in the afternoon. I also just run summer tires and park it for winter.

There is a big difference between Toronto and Montreal, it would be like comparing Dallas to New Orleans. Ontario doesn't have the same laws as Québec.

Dude!
i'm in montreal too and the 997 is out since friday.
got there:
http://www.saaq.gouv.qc.ca/saaqclic/...ires/index.php
and fill the "Winter Tires - Exemption" form. you need to provide a reason why you need an exemption to winter tire law. in the choices there is:
To put a vehicle back on the road (licensing a stored vehicle)
this is designed exactly for us! and it's free!
make sure to print the filled from, sign it, and bring it in the car.
cops will be looking at you...
i'm enjoying the porsche, top down, sun glasses with a tuque :-)

Personally I prefer Montreal over Toronto for its European feel. Toronto is one of the cleanest big cities I have the pleasure of visiting on business regularly. I have probably hosted more tours of CN tour for clients/staff than the locals!
Cheers,
Dave
