How long to wait to apply clear wrap after repairing license plate holes?

The clear wrap on my bumper is getting old and needs to be replaced.
I also have four (!) unsightly license plate holes in the bumper.

If I have the license plate holes repaired, do they repaint the whole bumper, or is it just a "touch up" in the area of the holes? My car is black.

How long should I wait to allow paint to dry before installing a new bumper clear wrap?

They will probably "blend" the whole bumper. I would say you can put the film on fairly quickly. I got 4 holes on my bumper that I wish were not there. Used bumper plugs for now because I have film on my bumper now. Too bad it cost so much.

I've heard the paint had to cure for 30 days.

I had my whole bumper painted when I removed the holes and it looks amazing.

Ask the shop painting your bumper for the best recommendation.

Thanks guys. So the car will be "out-of-commission" for at least month... And the weather is getting nice. May be I'll wait till the end of fall time / early winter, and enjoy driving for now.

You can drive it and let it get dirty. Just don't wash it or apply film. At least that was how I was instructed after repainting my 914.

I think you can wash it just not waxing it.

yeah he can but he'll probably also get rock chips on his nice new bumper, i would try not to drive it until the 30 days are up then get it wrapped

I decided NOT to put a wrap back on the car. I know I run the risk of rock chips, but dealing with the film, not to mention the cost to install a new wrap is just not in the cards right now.

Thanks for all the feedback and advise..it's all taken to heart...but in the end, it's dollars and cents! Especially these days.

I'm saving the money so I can replace that PCM with a real head unit and handsfree.
