About 5-7 years after trading in my RX-7, I thought about buying a used one. Problem was by then almost every 3rd gen RX-7 out there had been modded (in some cases modded to hell). I didn't want to take a chance on a modded car. I wanted a pristine stock car to match the memory of my original one. But those were really hard to find and if found, the asking price was crazy high.
I had kept my RX-7 completely stock and never had any major issues with it. Whoever the second owner was got a great car.

Mazda was a class act in dealing with this and replaced my out of warranty engine with a brand new at no cost as they quietly acknowledged there was a design flaw in the rotor seals. Porsche customer relations people....anyone listening?

My E46. it's slow.. and old. But... I've had it for so long. I'm going to drive it into the ground. it's comfy, has great ergonomics (Interior has everything in the right place...the 997 isn't as intuitive)

I miss my E36 1999 M roadster. That was a fun, strong little 2 seat roadster. Great torque and power. It really needed a 6th gear for the highway, and the stereo sucked, but it was one of the most solid cars I ever owned.

I miss my 2007 Audi RS4. That engine was one of the sweetest powerplants ever made. Aside from the fender bulges and the exhaust tips, pretty stealthy, too. a 3500 RPM clutch drop would get it to 60 in a little over 4 seconds, and it was a very capable performer in the twisties as well. Loved that exhaust note. Great car.

i wish i had some pics on this machine to post, but the car i miss the most (and the 997S was supposed to replace in spirit) is my '93 RS America. Black/black, 29k miles - gorgeous. i had to sell at the time, but i still wish i had that car. great, unmolested example. i sold it for more than i paid and it would be worth more now than what i sold it for.

Like many of you, I miss my first S2000 (2003/AP1), even though I ended up owning 5 of them (4 AP1's and 1 Ap2), which shows how much love and affection I had for that car...but out of all my previous cars, the one I would say I miss more than the rest has to be my 1M:

Love the 1M's. As a matter of fact...I have been taken a gander at these every now and then. How does the 997 compare to the 1M?
