Question about retractable spoiler.
All,
I recently purchased my lovely c2s, and I just noticed that when I make the rear spoiler go up (or down), it's a little on the noisy side. I searched the forums and read that it could be a need for lubrication or that the actual motor may be going bad? What's the consensus on this?
My car was a weekend driver for the previous owner, so I wouldn't doubt that lack of use may have caused the mechanism to dry up. The car is CPOed, but before I take in for something so simple, I rather ask what to expect first.
Thanks!!

Any pic of the location of these holes?

Part #17 is the ram. IIRC the little hole is on that piece.

I took it to the dealer; they lubed it, but the sound returned. I think that's just the way it is.

No noise yet- always wished I could actually see it go up and down, or at least the light on the switch should come on. ( Correct me if I'm wrong - 75mph to open and 50mph to close)

Thanks everyone...I'll take it to get lubed. As mentioned by the last member, I too wish I could see it in action. Such a great part of the car and the driver completely misses out

I just lubed it myself. Extend it and open the engine cover. You can see pretty clearly where it will need some lube. Mine was noisy and I lubed it up 2 years ago. It is still totally quiet. The mechanism just slides a plastic tube through a second tube. The rubbing of the plastic causes the sound.

I sort of agree Domer...but the other perspective is the noise can be horrible...not when driving though because I can't hear it....I would tend to say that if it sounds bad...it can only get bad or worse.
If I was a good engineer or mechanically inclined...I would develop an indication light to tie into the light on the console to light up when the wing was extended. That would be cool...but I'm not able to do that stuff.
