997.1 on 20's?
How do you guys feel about putting 20s on a 997.1? I can get new alloys (Zumbos) for $800 and they look sweet. Attached are some pics of what they would look like.
I'm not tracking the car on these, I care about performance, but I also care about looking outside the window and just being giddy about how aggressive my car looks.
What would be the impact to the drivability of the car? Pros/Cons would be ideal if possible. Any feedback on this Zumbo brand?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure on those wheels, but I recently added 20" to mine and although I love the look you do feel the road more and especially the concrete joints on the highway at speed. I still have my 19" RUF replica wheels and tires for sale, but when on the car the noise wasn't that far removed from my current setup

Fills the wheel well and shows all the filth of the hub, brake, suspension components, etc.

Perhaps that's how you'd described your components, but that's not reality with mine. My 5-spoke Vossen's are so easy to not only clean the wheels including hubs, calipers. etc., but also my coilovers. Pfft.

I keep my car cleaner than most but I'm not a slave to it. Since you guys are more concerned with aesthetics than driving dynamics, do you really like how small the brakes look with the bigger wheels? Personally I would prefer a very light 18" wheel as it offers the best overall performance and handling (and my preference in aesthetics), but the quality end of the aftermarket essentially dictates a 19" wheel. I'm happy to stay OEM these days and feed my many other hobbies.

When I see a car with huge wagon wheels on it, I don't think "wow, that looks aggressive"...I think "wow, someone spent a hell of a lot of money to get crummier rough road ride/handling and slower acceleration". If I do decide to change my wheels, I'll be putting on the smallest diameter that will still clear the calipers (17s?)...because they'll perform better and the tires will be cheaper. But hey, that's just me...

Ride is harsher because you have less sidewall to absorb road imperfections, more so if you also lowered the car w/Eibachs or H&Rs. It wasnt a night a day day change but there's a difference. However, if you're focusing on aesthetics, see below pic to understand why some owners go that route. Pretty cool...

Not worried about 20"s and performance as that's why I kept my Carrera 18" wheels/tires - whenever needed.
Don't stress out about it, eh.
