Cab top replacement?

Cab top replacement?
I have a stone grey top on my '09 997.2 silver cab. It works fine, but has some light fuzzy fraying on a couple of quarter-sized spots on the outside. It is years from actually needing replacement, but I would prefer a black top, and was wondering what the group's guidance might be. Specifically:
1. Would you have a dealer do it, or an independent?
2. Anyone have a sense how insanely expensive it would be?
3. Am I nuts to take off a perfectly functioning, quiet original top?
thx,
Adam

You might want to give that Renovo product a try before you replace it. For $70 it can't hurt to give it a shot and it may save you a ton of money

Pitts12, there is a black one for sale on eBay. Price $450 bucks. Looks like it is in excellent shape, off a car with 17k. Copied info below, hope this helps. Gary
