will filters for the gt cars fit the 997.2 s cars?
i suppose the filters for the gt cars were designed for higher flow. is there a difference between the filter of these cars? also will the better designed filters fit the basic 3.8 engine? lastly i suppose these are not oiled filters.

No - airboxes are different dimensions so filters are too. Your assumption about better design for the OEM GT filters is a pretty far-fetched assumption. For example, the OEM air filter for the 997.1 turbo and GT2 are the same.
