Speedster on eBay

Speedster on eBay
There is a 2011 997 Speedster on eBay with less than 2,000 miles. The current bid is over $100M, with 6 days to go. What makes the Speedster so valuable? I know this car had a MSRP of $200M and has the power kit that gives it the same additional 23 HP as a GTS, but that can't be it. Is it solely due to its rarity?

Part of it is the history and what happened with the previous models of the car. The windscreen is different on them. Raking back and being smaller than that on a 997 cab. Also had different body kit etc.
I have only ever seen one in the show room never actually on the roads. You really are paying for the exclusivity of the car.

K = 1000...but also M = 1000; MM = 1000000 - "mille" in Latin = 1000. M and K commonly interchanged in financial language.

Sorry for the confusion on the K vs. M, in the business world M means thousand, MM means million and B means billion.

That's pretty. I think there were around 150 that were brought here to the U.S. The steering wheel doesn't look like the original one that it came with though unless it was a special order.

I understood the interchangeable usage. It did dawn on me before posting, but it never made sense that it will be $100,000,000.00. The car is too new and not rare enough.

I didn't realize that most people on 6speed were in finance.

Wow! Ask her how much they use the car or if it just takes up space and money. My neighbor has a Testarossa that is her breadwinner husband's only personal possession in the whole house and she used complain about it every time I'd see her. (If she complains to me imagine what she does to her girlfriends!) She finally stopped after the 100th time I told her she picked out every other thing in their house and it brings him joy. So, if your co-worker is like my neighbor, it might pay to keep working her! That last little piece of his individuality that she has been able to take control of and wasn't preapproved could be bugging her to death to finally get it resolved!! All you would be doing is helping their relationship!!

LOL! I had to look at your profile/location to see if you were talking about the same woman. Yeah, it just sits in the garage and it bugs the crap out of her. I am just waiting for the divorce.
Supposedly, the '89 is the most sought-after speedster.
I agree with the previous post: the latest speedster, imo, is not as pretty as the '89. I am not crazy about its clamshell. I do like the '89 better.
