Opinions please, about garage floor

I'm building a new garage and I'm curious what people with more experience think about flooring options.

I'm down to an epoxy or tile. It's an oversized one-car space. I will install a lift and will keep a restored 914 and a newer p-car. What are the pros and cons of both?

My plans specs call for epoxy, but my builder loves his tile guy and was trying to get me to let him do a special pattern with porcelain tile instead.

Thoughts anyone?

I must be the only one who thinks racedeck looks cheesy. I'm often working in a lot of different machine shops and most of them have concrete with epoxy coated floors. It doesn't have the slick, flashy, patterned look you can get from tile or racedeck, but I like the strictly down to business look of it.

I've had ceramic tile (don't drop a wrench), and peel and stick vinyl (didn't stick that well), and my favorite....indoor/outdoor commercial grade carpet!

I've got a new house and I'm thinking about these.....

Intergral colored concrete. had my floor done with it and really warms upo the space instead of plain white concrete.

Why put epoxy down on a perfectly good and new surface ,or tiles for that matter. tiles = too much maintenance.

Use Professional applied Epoxy. The big box store stuff does not work.

^Correct. I used epoxy-coat.com for materials and had my painter do the labor. It's a 2 coat system, black with flakes and then a second clear coat. Very thick and nice. It feels great under bare feet, like the garage is just another room of the house. I have my maids clean and mop every two weeks so it always looks and feels great.

Also, the store brand paints and coats only last about two years. Hot tire pick-up destroys them.
