997 control unit seizure

Have 2006 C4S cab purchased new with 89,000 miles. Was at work yesterday and car out in downpour.
Suddenly alarm went off. I went out to check on car and found the alarm couldn't be deactivated though no doors or issues observed. Then noticed the foil rise on its own with car shutdown and break lights wouldn't go out. Driving home got all sorts of warnings about open hood and engine lid as well as top errors etc.
suspect water damage. Will this require replacing control unit.
Where is it located. How did it get wet?

Was the top down where the ECU was able to get wet,
otherwise I would think you have a bad sealing problem with your top?

This is for a later 997.2 than our 06s but, I'm sure it's in the same area.
