Navigation question...

Does the OEM navigation module in a 2009 Porsche C2S work everywhere in the U.S. or are disc upgrades required for different regions?

My question i how do you upgrade the map on the PCM 2.1? I have a 07 997 and I'm sure the map is outdated.

There are plenty of threads on the various Porsche specific boards/forums. Basically you need to figure out the level of your PCM & NAV before you can start the update. You might need to update your PCM first (and possibly your Bose Amp if it's not up to the proper version) before your plug in the latest NAV DVD. I'd stay away from eBay copies from a legal and error standpoint. I did my old 2005 997S a few years back and since it was a very early 2.1 PCM & Bose Amp I had to go through a few hoops before I was successful. I have all the supplied documentation that came w/ the PCM and NAV updates. Unless you live or travel to areas that have new streets and POI's it might just be a waste of money.

I'll search for some info I have and send it to you. PM me your email address. I can help you until later this week since I'll be out town for a few days.

Do use the search function as there is loads of info on this very subject.

Thanks I think you're right! It may not be worth to upgrade it. I'm seriously considering going with an after market system like an Alpine NAV with Bluetooth. I'll drop you a msg if I decide to upgrade my PCM.
