Do we like front DRL LEDs on 997s now that we've had them for a while?
Was driving in another car ahead of my wife tonight while she drove the 997.1. She has the stock front DRLs, and I noticed, again, how weak the stocks are. Having never driven a 997 with any of the aftermarket front DRL LED lights, do they actually work better and provide better light? They look cool, most of them, from the outside, but wonder about from a driver's perspective if they actually work better and throw better light?
Thanks!
Thanks!

+1, those DRL isn't going to provide much noticable light from the driver, however someone on the other side of the road will noticed them. They give you a modern look to the 997.1. I highly recommend them too and would never go back to OEM, same with the rear LED's.

DRLs
FS; I will be changing my front bumper which will have OE DRLs included from my 997.2.
All 997s have the same size front bumpers.
Able to send by Greyhound in US or PU in Montreal
$850 shipped complete in US

Econo box has a steering wheel, so are you going to stop buying cars? LED's are the future until the next lighting technology. Every car will eventually have them.

Not sure what level exclusivity you are looking for by comparing headlights/DRL's between vehicles. It would be a kin to saying that you are disappointed in Xenon lights because they can now be seen/had on most every car?
To the OP, I personally have turned off all of the DRL's on all of my families vehicles. Not because of where they are found, but because I am not a fan of the way they look in general on most any vehicle (except Audi's). So to appease that need that I have simply turned the DRL's in to parking lights, then the normal std. headlamp, and brights.

Lots of threads on this. Me I got mine from FVD Brombacher of Florida/Germany. They are a sponsor on 6 speed online and offer a discount . Talk to Rhonda. She is great with customer service. Plug and play. No issues. You can buy elsewhere for cheaper but.....

Exactly. There's nothing special about them, so why spend the $? Again, its personal preference, and the original question was "do we like" My personal opinion is "nope!" But, as with any mod, people can do whatever they want... doesn't mean I have to like it personally :-)
I had them on my .2 carerra and left them off.
BTW, I do not like most after market HID lights. They are blinding and look like crap, are not properly installed. In Los Angeles it seems every old pickup and nissan has these things. Yes, some do it right, and those look fine. But, proper HID lights DO offer a performance advantage for night driving. Just needs to be done properly.
