997 hot tire pressure track for toyo r8.???

Anyone run these on track? Will be the first time with these tires I used to run Michelin supersports hot 33. Max pressure on toyo s is higher..and would like to get dialed in quickly. Let me know if you know and thank you.

i'm assuming you mean the 888's yeah? i've run them for years. on a hot day you will gain 10lbs so start at 25-27, as you want them 35-37 hot. any more and they start getting slippery.

FWIW, 8's have lost their charm in my eyes. not sure if they changed the compound/manufacture process but it doesnt seem i'm getting the life or the performance i used to. i might be switching over to NT01 when my current set of 8's dies.

I started my R888s at 27f, 26r, with the intent of getting them to 35 hot all around.

I thought the R888's sucked. They heat cycled out with lots of tread left. I switched to NT01s and they were beautiful down to the cords.

NT01s in 315/30-18 in the rear presented no problems for ABS/PSM on 997.1 or 997.2 even though the outer diameter is smaller than OE.

I am a big fan of the Nitto NT-01's. I have a set with more than 50 heat cycles. Yes, they are not like new. But these tires lasted a long time. They are very predictable at the limit, and will warn you when they are not happy (before they rain on your parade.). They are definitely not as fast as Hoosiers. So, if you are doing TT, go with the Hoosiers. But, if you are a weekend warrior, you will like them a lot.

One MAJOR warning! Have no expectations of running them in the wet. If it rains and the Nitto's are all you have, sit in the pits. They will hydroplane at the sight of rain clouds. Have fun.
