Need some Advice on a GT3 vs. Aerokit Front bumper

Well I had a little fender bender. Luckily it was low speed an only the bumper cover got damaged. The good news is I have been contemplating a front end upgrade to the GT3/Aerokit, so now is the time. I really like the GT3 Smile vent, but for about $600 less I can buy the Aerokit and have the $39 vent cut in. Also, I think I need to buy the lower lip on the GT3 Separately so i could save more than $600 on the Aerokit front bumper

Is there anything else I should consider? I like the look of front lower lip painted so that is not a concern (I believe the Aerokit is primered while the GT3 can stay unpainted).

I guess I should ask if anyone has a front bumper for a 997.1 either the Gt3 or Aerokit PM me. Black is preferable, but I am willing to repaint if the price is right.

Isn't it dangerous to do either the front or rear of the car without the other?
You'll be pushing the front end down more at speed and the rear could lift.
Not an expert, just curious.

I was thinking about this other day and think any aero distortion is negligable for 99% of the speeds we drive at. One example is the GTS. Aero front bumper and standard rear without a large wing. Of course at triple digit speeds I can see why aerodynamics would matter, but like the OP, I think the majority of Porsche owners, aero kits are an aesthetic preference, myself included.

if you're going to cut the vent into an aerokit bumper, you should get the gt3 vent install kit from rennline, that way its perfectly placed on your car. i also got the wire mesh kit for my gt3 vent so you cant see straight through it.

Your car looks beautiful - I was definitely going to get the rennline install and Mesh kit. I might see if the body shop I am going to has the install kit since they are the certified Porsche repair shop here.

Hella-Buggin - I already have a wing on the back so I am not too worried.

I went with the OEM aerokit, added a 3rd radiator and rennline mesh inserts, I saved some $$$ instead of adding the GT3 parts would have spent almost $1.2k more.

You went with the 3rd radiator and no GT3 Vent/smile?

I am not sure I need the 3rd radiator, but I like the look of the GT3 vent/Smile

LA Dismantlers has a GT3 RS bumper. Anyone know what is different about the RS bumper? It looks the same. There is no lip with it, so I assume I can use the standard GT3 lip?

FYI - I Just got an answer on the difference between the GT3 and GT3 RS bumper......They are the same except for the lower lip. The RS has a lip extension, but they are identical and the GT3 lip can be used on the GT3 RS bumper.

The OEM aerokit vents outs the bottom, just like cars that have the X51 power kit. The 3rd radiator is mounted at a different angle than the GT3 cars.
