Porsche Road show

Went to the Porsche Road show today, thanks to Hammer911 (at Rennlist) for the invite. I was not invited by my dealer this year. I had a blast, it was fun so for those of you that get an invite, go! Don't hesitate, it'll be a fun experience.

There were a lot of nice cars in the parking lot, rows of new boxsters and caymans parked together, didn't take any pics unfortunately, many 911 of all years. Here are a few that I did take, GT2, AM Vantage, and MB SLS

When I checked in, I was greeted by a bunch of cuties. I made a comment that Porsche only hires pretty girls and it made all of the girls smile and giggle. I didn't want to look like a perv and start snapping pics of all the girls so I only took one.

They had a nice C4S with the aerokit, really like the white exterior and terrocota interior.

Had about 20 minutes of Porsche introduction and proper driving etiquette, off to the skip pad where they show the importance of PSM. Then on to the track. We rotated between the Cayman, C4, Cayman S, and C4S. It was fun but I wished they would separate the groups who has track experience. There were a lot of people's first time at the track so it was more like a fast cruise. Didn't really get to test the cars like I wish I could have. Last year was fun as most of my group were track junkies and we drove it as fast as we can.

And we are off

Once we were done with the road course, he headed to the autocross course where we drove the Cayenne V6/Diesel, Panamera 4S/hybrid.

It was a very quick three hours, wished these events are all day. Got a nice Porsche hat as a parting gift.

I went to one in Toronto 2 months ago and it was a full day event.

Won 3rd place in autocross and got a little Cayman model.

#PWRS at Texas Motor Speedway

I went the weekend of June 22nd when it was here in DFW. It was the first time I had driven a Porsche Cayman and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Cayman S was even more thrilling and required little experience when driving full throttle around bends. I'm still a 911 guy but would definitely consider a Cayman in the future.

That would be cool if it was all day. I guess my gift isn't as cool as yours.

I like the new Boxster. I think Porsche did a great job with the Cayman and Boxster. Mid-engine cars with an exotic look, add a little more hp and it's perfect.

Looks like it was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to mine at the New Jersey Motorsports Park in late August.

Got an email invitation from Porsche directly last week. I wonder how they picked me out?

Ynot - I was there too, and saw those same cars in the parking lot! Must have just been a bit later than you because the skies were darker for me

Probably think you are ready for the new 991, this was an event sponsor by Porsche dealers for potential customers.

I was at the 10am session, you were probably the 1pm session. It was pouring on my drive home. Hope you didn't get rained out. I did a BMW driving event and half of the sessions were cancelled due to rain. It really sucks, were having so much fun before the rain.
