Arrow Front LED 997.2 Conversion on eBay? Anyone bought these?

Hey all,

I am currently looking at a set of LED's on eBay for the front of my 997.1.

They are IDENTICAL to the ones sold by RotTec but a couple hundred dollars less.... You never know with these eBay lights so I figured I would ask if anyone has successfully ordered these from eBay.

EDIT- Just bought a set based on the conversation I had with the company's owner. They are supposedly the SAME lights as RotTec's and are made from the exact same manufacturer.

Link can be found here - who wants the last 4 sets at only $375 shipped?! http://www.ebay.com/itm/180904456965...84.m1497.l2649

Please advise,

Thanks!
John

Considering RotTec track record, these eBay lights would have me running for the hills.

Lightbulb

Okay, so I just got off of the phone with Jeff at Xtreme Motorcars. Apparently they specialize in Porsche and Lamborghini applications.

I talked to him about RotTec and confirmed that they both order their LED's from the same exact manufacturer.

I paid $375 for them just now and got free shipping. Jeff was pleasant on the phone and explained that he has 5 (now 4) sets left and that mine would be shipped out first thing tomorrow.

If this is all true and the lights go in just like RotTec, I will be sure to give myself a huge pat on the back for saving over 200 dollars.

Wish me luck guys

rottec doesnt have an exclusive to LED DRL's. rottec stated that they're all the same and what might separate theirs from other vendors is the warranty they offer. if another company gives you the same product and warranty for $200 less, i say why not?

This is exactly how I looked at the matter.

When I spoke to the owner of the company I ordered them from, he explained to me that he was VERY familiar with RotTec AND bought these lights from the EXACT same vendor, I thought okay.... then he told me of the other vendors to watch out for. He definitely knew his stuff and didn't seem to be full of it...

If these are the same as RotTec, we will all know hopefully by Tuesday. I will update so you guys can grab the last four sets available.

Xtreme offers a 1 year warranty as well!

I bought a set form a guy on Ebay. He had a Best offer auction and I offered him $300 and he took it. I have had them on my car for about a month and they are perfect. If you look at any of the LED light you purchase you will a made in Taiwan stamp on the back. THEY ARE ALL made at the SAME factory.

You do get what what pay for and you keep what you save!

I bought mine off e-bay for about $300. My car was in the shop for some body repair. I got the aero bumper installed with the taiwan drl and could not be happier. Time will tell if the product will last.

"you get what you paid for" is true.
Also - "if you own a porsche then you will pay out the a$$ for aftermarket parts".

does anyone have an installation guide for these? do they throw codes or require any sort of resistors to prevent that?

They are plug and play no resisters needed. Its a 5 minute job. Just take a few plastic cards and slide them into the center small side between the light and the car and the light will release and pop right out. Then simply unplu and plug in new ones. It is simple. The trick for me was to use 3 plastic type cards, otherwise the light would not release. Check youtube there is a video for it.

Hk5 motors inc was the company I got it from. Payment went through PayPal.
I didn't do the install, so I can't give you the detailed information you're looking for. This is what I do know:
The install is simple plug-n-play, no resisters or splicing needed.
