Those high numbers (mine anyway) are definitely only highway.

Usually I do much worse, under 20 city.

Some metrics here:

My last 2 fill ups I saw 15.6 and 18.6 mpg respectively. The 15.6 included an autocross event...

18.6 mpg is city driving with very little highway.

Highway only I easily get 26-26.5 mpg and if I use cruise control and max speed no more than 75mph I see 27ish...

Tomorrow I am driving from queens ny to fort devens Massachusetts. It is a 3 hour driving about. I will post the mileage and mpg later this weekend...

Btw the car is a 09 carrera 4s launch car with approximately 15k miles...

I never looked before but 3 days ago on the way to the track (NJMP,140 miles away) my friend in his BMW 550i asked me to check. I reset the counter and we both set it to cruise at 65mph for 10 miles or so. Got 27.6mpg. his was very low 20's.. then at 70mph it went to ~24mpg.

I don't know about y'all, but with the way I drive it I'd consider myself lucky to bust 20mpg...

Not bad for all your mods. Best I ever got (NYS Thruway @ ~ 80 mph) was 24. Average around 17 mpg mixed stop and go/highway cruising. I have gotten as low as 8 when really pushing it.

I've been DD'ing my '06 C2s for three weeks now (I'll post pics someday), and seem to be averaging about 22-23 on the back roads of north western Jersey. Though I tend to keep the speed down and only have 3 stop signs/lights on my way.

don't forget octane ratings. when i drive my car back home (southeast) and i can get 93 octane, i average 2 mpg better than when i'm running colorado's 91 octane. normal 30/70 city/hwy driving provides 18 mpg combined, if i'm behaving.

2012 911 GTS PDK Cab...

On a drive home from Dallas to Woodside, CA, my wife got 26-27 mpg averaging about 75 mph. I, on the other hand, sped along at ~85-ish (with some spirited triple-digit passing) and averaged about 22-24 mpg. Those were full days on the highway with stops for gas and sleeping.

Back home I average about 15 - 18 mpg depending on how much highway driving I get in, and when I forget to punch the 'Sport' button (I wish it was sport by default, with 'Econ' as an option. My average trip is less than 10 miles, with maybe one trip a week averaging over 50 round-trip.

When I really want to have fun (PDK 'Sport-Plus'), I doubt I even cross 10 mpg.

All that said, I agree with Eric the plug guy... mpg isn't top of mind when I'm driving a 911.

Agreed.
I got 454 km on the last tank before the light popped up which included a very spirited Saturn Drive.
Fill up was 59 litres.

I just did a 800 km trip, some cruising, lots of passing. Average speed was 104 km/hr... That includes a little city driving and pulling in for eats and fuel. Mileage was 9L/100 Kms which equals 26 m/ gallon.
