Thumbs up $10 oil Filter Removal Tool Drag Specialties for Harley Softails fits 997 perfect!

This is for those of you who don't own an oil filter removal tool and want an alternative the the expensive OEM and other pricy oil filter removal tools.

I just did my first oil change on my newly acquired 2005 997S today and before ordering a oil filter removal tool, I randomly decided to try my drag specialties oil filter removal tool from my old harley softail.....BOOM! PERFECT FIT!

It's 76mm, 14 flutes (stamped with this info on the inside) and only $10.

Here is the part number from Drag Specialties: 1606-6044

http://www.dragspecialties.com/products/?productId=130142&partNumber=16066044

works great!

How old was your Harley? I still have the filter wrench (socket?) from my '05 Night Train. Will that fit? I don't have a 911 yet, but I'm looking at 997.2s...

Well, now I have an excuse to buy a 911...so my oil filter wrench won't go to waste!

I've used my 1995 Fatboy wrench on my 2007 997S for years.

H-D and Porsche have more in common than just the V-Rod engine. Whenever Harley tries to do something really different, their market spits it out. Sound familiar?
