Carerra sport wheel help

Purchased this set of wheels from a guy on Six speed, very happy with them, they are super clean, however, I don't like the black wheels on a black car. Just dropped them off at the refinishers/painters and was going to go with the silver/grey color inside, but they say the stock color they show is a medium charcoal. I know that's not the factory color name, but it spooked me into thinking it might be too dark. I told them initially I would go with a hyper silver finish but I'm really a stickler for the OEM factory look and don't want an aftermarket look. Does anyone have these wheels with different colors? I like the light gray finish that I have seen in numerous pictures, not sure how it would look with black as opposed to the hyper silver.

Any opinions, or better yet any pics of what color you have on your Carerra sports?

Not sure if you are planning to do a two-tone, with inner barrels in the darker finish and outer spokes/etc in silver, but check GT Silver. It was used for quite a while on that wheel.

The 'inner' barrel section on the 997 polished turbo wheel is more towards Meteor.

Factory painted Sport rims on my 4s

This what you're looking for (GT Silver)? BTW, I think the black wheels would look awesome on your car.

Your initial impulse was good: go with the GT Silver. I have a car with gloss black wheels on it. I've always hated the way they look after I've driven the car...they always look dirty unless they're still dripping in my driveway right after a wash. Silver will be a nice contrast with all that black, and it won't show dirt/dust anywhere near as quickly. JMO...

You could always paint the car silver

I am partial to the GT Silver idea.

I think the wheels look much better in black than GT Silver. Why not put them on, drive around with them for a bit before you make a change? You already have silver wheels, might be nice to switch up the look every now and then.

Just my opinion though.

Wheels

I ended up calling them and telling them to stay with the factory color spokes. I even emailed pics of the factory wheel, and gave them the factory paint code to be sure they got it right. I'll be picking up the wheels tonight and hopefully will mount them and get some pics up too. Thanks for the input!

final results

I am super happy with the finish, the sanded, painted two coats of GT Silver, a top coat of Powder coated clear, and then actually remachined the edge to factory specs. Beautiful.

Agreed

I was bit surprised by the number of suggestions to keep them black! I think these are much better!
