what are you doing for racing wheels / tires?
I have a 2006 3.6 carrera and I am starting to go to road course racing events, and my car came with the carrera III wheels that I guess are 18x8 and 18x10 but I cannot find any dot approved slicks that would fit correctly on these. I like the kumho V710 but they don't have matching sidewall sizes for front and rear for 18" wheels. I don't know what to do, my friend says sell the wheels and get some good 3 piece wheels that the kumho's would fit in 17" or something but I don't know, any ideas?

why do they need to be DOT? arent they going to be for track only? besides, i think even hoosiers have a groove down the middle that gets by the DOT requirement.
anyway, if i were you i'd at least invest in another set of track wheels - OZ, CCW to name a couple - and both make light and (relatively) cheap sets. with CCW, you can tailor to what you want. beyond that think about a trailer so you dont have to worry about slicks on the street.
as a side note, i would consider R-compound/non-slick like nitto's NT01 or toyo 888. your car (as well as my '06S) already has potential oiling issues and the g load from slicks would only exacerbate it and put more wear & tear on everything in general. i've been tracking for a few years now and have been having a blast with non-slick.
good luck.
