I've got a 2010 C4S Cab with the original map software on the PCM 3.0 unit. While it seems fine, I've just had a loaner car from my local dealer (a 2013 Cayman) and the new map seems like a nice upgrade.

Has anyone upgraded to the latest version and do you think it's worth it?

It seems like an expensive step ($395 on Suncoast plus whatever my Delaer wants to hit me for the install), so I can't justify an annual upgrade. But given the 3 year gap and the enhanced features, it seems like something to consider.

From everyone's perspective, what's the feedback on this?

 

How much would the dealer charge to install?

 

I'm still waiting on a quote from my local P dealer, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll tell me 1-2 hours of labor... So that, plus the $395 price tag of the disc itself tells me I'm looking at close to $600 all in.

What I can't seem to find out is what (if any) additional or new functionality I can expect from the new software. Has anyone upgraded their nav disc, and is there anything more than just updated roads?

 

I updated my 2010 to the 2012 maps a couple months ago. Doh!

It added some bug fixes for the Bluetooth that I appreciated. For example I can hand off a call from phone to car without dropping it.

 

The bluetooth bug fixes would be because of a PCM upgrade not because of the new map I assume.
I have an 09 and cann transfer calls from phone to car and car to phone without issues. Only problem is if I shut the car (after I transfered from car to phone) the call drops.
Anyway. Is the map vastly superior?

correct, that's all that's in the update. if you have old firmware, it will update it, but no new features or graphics.
