Tips for Fun w/ PDK in Manual Mode
I'm struggling with how to drive the PDK to really get the most fun from it.
I had the Sport/Sport Plus upgrades installed, and they definitely provide more aggressive shifts and very different driving experiences.
However, I find myself missing manual shifting from time to time.
I've tried manual mode and it seems kind of pointless - if you get to redline it shifts anyway, and it bumps back into automatic mode on its own.
I have not been successful in driving the PDK "like a manual."
Anyone else have this experience, or have tips/experiences to share?

Hey brother Frisconian!
I always drive in manual sport mode and switch between the paddles (need this upgrade if you are missing it) and the shift lever. I first went to egear (paddles) in the Gallardo and have not looked back, then did SMG in the M5, but the paddles are a must!
See ya on the DNT or 121!

You can consider the Techart or Champion paddle shifter conversion which will allow you to retain your multi-function controls. Kinda pricey though.
I struggled with the pdk buttons until I got my steering wheel with the paddles. Now shifting is much more natural for me!

if you redline it but you have not touched the floor the car will stay on the rev limiter.
The paddles really make the difference. For the past week or so i have been driving the car 95% in manual mode... It definitely gives you more control than the Auto mode...
Sport if fun too, but Sport plus is way to aggressive for the streets, unless you like to drive and shift like there is no tomorrow...

I do like the paddles in my c4s. Sport plus and manual mode is the most spirited. I add PASM to stiffen up the suspension too. However, our other P cars are manual and more involving to drive. So much fun trying to execute a perfect heel toe and rev match in the gt3 rather than having a computer do it for you.
