Replaced one rear tire, now car pulls to one side when accel/decel

My driver side rear tire had a flat and was beyond patchable, so I had the tire replaced. It's PSS. the other 3 tires have 90%+ thread life.

now i notice when the car accel, it pulls slightly to the left, when it decel it goes to the right.

i heard similar issue when my friend had one of his rear tire replaced on his GT3.

but does it really happen? do I have to change BOTH tires at the same time???

This is a 2009 C4S.

It is always recommended to replace both. However, how many miles have you put into the new tires?

Give it a couple of hundred miles and see how it goes.

Could it be an alignment issue?

Here's a long shot....

Remove wheel with the tire. Take a good look at the wheel and tire. Make sure that the mating surfaces of the wheel and hub are clean. Remount wheel to car making sure that the wheel is fully flush withe the hub when mounted. Secure the wheel by proper tightening and torquing to spec using a criss cross pattern. All of this is to ensure the wheel is mounted true to the hub.

When you got the flat, was there any impact to the wheel? Large port hole? Anything? Just want to be sure your wheel is true. There could also be the possibility an impact slightly knocked your alignment off.

Even longer shot......

You may have a bad tire. Out if round or with a shifted or bad belt. Take the car to where you got the tire and had mounted. Take them for a drive and demonstrate the problem.

If others are at 90%+ tread, uneven wear shouldn't be it. Check tire pressures, uneven tire pressure can cause this too.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

The only thing that i could think of is, the tow truck driver had the car strapped pretty hard lol, is it possible that it had altered the alignment ? but the car drives straight

the car came in perfect and drove flawlessly, until the tire got a huge nail. i'm pretty sure the wheel is 100% true and no damage was done, as the leak was pretty slow and I found out the tire was flat the next morning. then i called the tow truck and had it towed to the shop.

FYI, I once tried to "rotate" my rear tires. Tho they had the same thread/life, the car handled very differently. That's what I got for rotating them way too late!!

I guess the slight wear on each tire was significant enough to make a difference.

Obviously, I put them back where they were.

Get alignment checked. Tire pressure is a good point too. There could be suspension damage if you hit something. A pull like that could be a failing bushing

Give it the fill new tire break- in period before you decide what to do next. If the issue is new tire related it should disappear when the top most layer of new rubber has warn off .
