Started my car with the MAF unplugged.....
And now I'm showing fault code P1175 - Random Misfires. Heres the question, will the code eventually go away or do I HAVE to reset it? I'm due for smog and that was the dumbest thing EVER!

You could try driving around until the codes clear or disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 30 minutes (works on other makes) and see if everything will reset after you reconnect and start the car. If not, a visit to the dealer to get the diagnostics done and the codes cleared may be your only option.

If not the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) may be a stale one.
Or you are somehow reading permanent DTCs. In this case the DTC will go away on its own but it takes time. The DME will require a number of engine warm up events with no error condition present before it will erase the code.
While you can disconnect the battery to clear the codes (save the permanent ones) I hate this technique. Buy a good scan tool and use it to erase the codes. It won't erase the permanent ones though. Only the DME can do that.
But you need to drive the car enough to have all the readiness monitors set to complete after you clear the codes. Also, of course, you need to drive the car enough that the permanent codes are erased.

Is the CEL still on?
