hi all,
i'm looking to make some subtle mods to my '09 997.2. one of the things i don't like are the stock oval exhaust tips. i'd like to get a double barrel design in black. i found the following:

does anybody have experience with this product or can anybody recommend something similar (cheaper would be even better! )

 

Very expensive mod, in my opinion.

I have a friend with the same stock tips as you have, He had them black powder coated (his car is silver). It made a great improvement in the looks of the rear. He did this a couple of years ago and the coating is holding up great.

 

do you know how much he paid for powdercoating? i'd like to get a frame of reference for my options. thanks!

 

Well, a damn sight cheaper that the tips you're looking at!!

I think (iirc) less than $120. I can find out for sure if you want, but I suspect that each powdercoater will quote a different price.

 

It was the second mod I did to my 09 997.2 (only after getting a full Tubi Style exhaust). I was in the same boat, the base oval tips just don't cut it.

there are members selling quad-tips all the time (prices vary from $200-$600 based on powdercoat/etc.). I got a brand new set that were custom powder coated black for $400.
