the whole province was leveled in one stroke. shows you the power of nature and how helpless we are against it. a lot ofo people suffered and are still suffering. body count is increasing everyday. very unfortunate that our government is so slow people could still have been saved. nevertheless the outpouring of support form other countries is touching and just shows also in the end human being will unite to help each other regardless...

my G/F was there in her province through the whole ordeal her flight was supposed to leave on thursday before it hit but all flights got canceled that morning. she had no power for 3 days and it came on spotty after that luckily her island was not damaged like tacloban. but it did do some signifigant damage.
im glad she got home safe last wednesday, after immigration gave her the riot act for 5 hours upon arrival. Nothing Wrong with her papers or anything just *verification* wanting to know how she can pay for her flight.

A few weeks before the Tacloban disaster, a typhoon hit the northern region and it leveled 100+ yr old trees (planted by the Spaniards), leveled farms, took the roofs off houses, etc. this typhoon never saw the news coverage it deserved. I spoke to people there and they said that they never saw such destructive typhoon in their lifetime.
One thing for sure, tho probably coincidental, Mother Nature has been different this year. Hopefully, those two were the first and last.
Global warming, perhaps?
