break upgrade for a 997.1 S
Not everyday you have the opportunity to go out and ride in a Colombian highway with no speed limit with a Fiorano GTO , a Fiorano 599 , a 997.1 tt, a SL 65 and some others. Obviously they are in a different categoryfrom my 997.1 S . In straight line after 150 kms/h they were faster, but in curves I was always near them and with some handsI could show them my Porsche´s beautiful rear…..my problem was with breaking, here is where I need help. At those levels of speed, my 997.1 do not stop. What upgradeshould I do (not ceramic to $$$) to mycar.

There are no cheap options to upgrade the brakes on a Porsche S. This recent post will give you some options but not cheap options.

Yes sir, no big deal....ifyou don’t show me that I miss spell the word brake, I did not realized it. I have alsotrack my car with no brake problems, the problem was with these big dogs whenpassing a truck or slow car and then had to stop after another slow car. When Iwas behind the 599 fiorano and this guybrake, his car stop immediately, my car didn´t…..and in one occasion the Ferrarihad to move to his right side or I will stop into his car….the brake pads I useright now are hawk. If someone canadvise me better pads, I will try them or there is another alternative from suncoast parts (http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/6Piston.html?Category_Code=997sbrakekits) that is about usd$3000 “Providing massive amounts of braking powerfor wide-body cars, this kit will impress on the street or track. Using factory parts, you can upgrade tothe Porsche 6-Piston front brake system that is found on the GT3. The rotorsize size is increased, from 330 mm to 350 mm. “ there is an option for front and rear.

Better brake pads will help, track versions would do the job. Pagid Yellows seem to be a favorite. This is probably the least expense route. But normal driving with race pads will squeal. It's a tradeoff you will need to make.
Going to a larger diameter rotor will also help. This requires bigger calipers and gets expensive fast. One option to consider is "upgrading" to OEM turbo calipers, rotors and pads. You will gain rotor diameter to help stopping power as well as going from four piston calipers up front to six pistons, allowing for more brake pad surface area. A used set of turbo calipers, rotors and pads can be found for about $2000 USD.

and his contribution to this forum is not in question since Ken is one of the most helpful person here.
99 % of the members knew u spelled 'brake' incorrectly (along with many other words), but realizing English is not ur first language, prob just let it go.
Back to the subject-
like others stated, the others cars u mention are in different class, both in price and overall performance, compared to 997.1 S
however, 2010 ferrari 599 GTO has a braking distance of 32.5 meters (106.6 feet) from 100 km/h (62.1 mph)

vs
2005 carrera S, which has 60 mph- 0 distance of 104 feet.

pretty comparable, no?
few questions for u:
when was the last time u had ur brake fluid flushed ?
when were the rotors re-surfaced/replaced ?
were the brakes properly embedded last time ?
and lastly, did u step on the brake like u really meant it ?

My Rep points suggest I have made many helpful contributions on this forum in recent years. My comment was only meant as a subtle reminder that cars have brakes, not breaks. No big deal. As Dadio pointed out, there are no cheap options. Actually, I am surprised you find the brakes inadequate at high speeds, as I've never heard anyone (including track enthusiasts) complain about the steel brakes on the S models. In fact, I've heard many instances of track guys taking off their PCCBs and installing the factory steel brakes. Have you considered trying different brake pads?
Good luck running with the big dogs. Sounds like fun.

when were the rotors re-surfaced/replaced ? Never and the car has 34000 miles

and lastly, did u step on the brake like u really meant it ? Yes , lots of adrenaline with abs on sometimes
