Need help to find a Porsche friendly Smog Certifier for my 997. You know what I mean by friendly!!

And what is limiting you from your posted mods, to prevent you from passing a smog test?

 

I'm sure it would be the CAI from Fabspeed is your problem, if you have no sticker then...you would need the stock box and filter.

 

Yes...the CAI is my issue. No one is willing to look the other way!!

 

this is why I keep mine stock, CA smog is rutheless

 

Yep I have that issue with my Jeep so I just put the stock airbox on every two years for the smog test.

 

Probably should go back to stock for the Porsche too. Never understood the Fabspeed CAI - just noise and looks since any power increase is negligible. I'm sure someone will PM you a emissions contact. Good luck.

 

Put stock box back on...got certified. Think I will leave the stock box in. Love the sound of the Fabspeed, but yes mostly cosmetic and sound.

 

After driving the car with the stock box for several hundred miles....I have noticed the following;

Fabspeed CAI

1) Awesome sound at higher revs
2) Adding Gundo/Fister Mod Awesome Sound at all revs
3) Good top end speed and torque
4) Not so good low end torque

Stock Airbox

1) Quieter at all revs in comparison
2) Excellent low end torque in comparison
3) Smoother power delivery in comparison

So...my decision is to stay stock or go back to the Fabspeed?

Anyone willing to share thoughts or what they would do?
