They haven't updated their site yet...this only became available 2-3 weeks ago. Cartronics have a post about it on their site already though: http://www.cartronics.co.uk/Porsche-...-audio-upgrade

Quick update:

PCM 3.0 was recoded at the main dealer this morning and this afternoon we hooked up the Mobridge and voila! Sound

I can now confirm that the product works as intended. Interestingly though, my car has PCM but did not have a MOST bus ring whatsoever. I therefore had to use a M-M MOST bus fibre optic (I used Dension part FOA1PO1) to connect the PCM to the DA3.

We had an initial problem whereby the recoded PCM would not output any sound to the Mobridge even though the fibre was lit - the PCM also didn't display the Bose specific options in its settings. By pulling the fuse to the instrument cluster for 10 seconds with the key out, the programming kicked in and we saw Surround Sound and AudioPilot kick in on the PCM menu and we were able to get sound.

Initial thoughts - this is a worthwhile upgrade. Can't wait to collect the car on Monday after it's properly setup.

"Quality midrange and bass drivers are usually made from paper, paper composites and laminates, or plastic materials such as polypropylene or mineral/fiber filled polypropylene. Such materials have very high strength/weight ratios (paper being even higher than metals) and tend to be relatively immune from flexing during large excursions. This allows the driver to react quickly during transitions in music (i.e. fast changing transient impulses) and minimizes acoustical output distortion."

Quick update from the weekend:

1. My car has PCM 3.0 and bluetooth and USB - however there was no MOST bus in the car. If you are expecting there to be a MOST bus in the car just because you have PCM, this is NOT the case (even though it is the case with PCM 2.x cars). The old rules do not apply here.

2. I expected there to be MOST bus in the car, therefore I bought a M-M-F Y-cable to add the DA3 onto the ring. In the end I could not use this as I didn't have a MOST bus shunt for the unused end therefore I used Dension part FOA1PO1 (which contains 2 cables, by the way - I only used one of them) to interconnect the HU directly to the DA3, creating a local ring with just those two devices.

3. If you have a main dealer reprogram your PCM to BOSE in order to use the MOST bus out, you must have them reset the car's gateway for the programming to take effect. I had a main dealer re-code my PCM however couldn't get it to work until the gateway fuse was left out for 10 seconds (fuses are in the driver's kickwell) and then the BOSE settings were apparent on the PCM. This took many hours to figure out.

4. The sound in the end is lovely. There are some issues that need to be worked out (I'm in touch with the relevant parties) but there is hope of resolving these shortly with collaboration. I will keep you updated.

there's no such "old rules". at all. was rumours that not correct. MOST = Media Oriented Systems transport, and it connects ONLY multimedia devices via optics.
if car dont have bose & external cd-changer tv navi - nothing to connect at all. but it can be that optics cable still in car - one side then will be plugged in pcm or cdr, other side will be terminated, for cd-changer tequipment installation.

So that's the point I'm making - in a PCM equipped car, there are no optics as standard in Gen 2, whereas there is in Gen 1.

Therefore if you purchase a MOST bus device, don't assume you're adding onto an existing MOST ring - you may actually be creating one from scratch. That will influence what sort of MOST cables you purchase - I bought all of the types just in case as I wasn't sure.

Oh it's about time Mobridge updated their MOST adapter for PCM3. 2-3 years too late, if you ask me. If you try one of the latest head units with Apple Carplay (or Android Auto), there's no going back. Imagine verbally telling Siri to navigate to the nearest gas station, instead of poking tiny letters on a crappy touchscreen.

By then, it'll probably be PCM8, and Mobridge will come out with a compatible adapter another 2-3 years too late. By then, all cars will be electric and self-driven and nobody will care. How's that for "on topic!"
