Tires for the 997
#17
Most people seem to be big on the Michelin Pilot Super Sports... any comments on the Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD0? I've read the Yokohama might be faster on dry roads. They are just slightly more expensive than the Michelins.
I keep looking for recent reviews of performance tires but they are hard to find. The best info seems to be on this forum. Car & Driver did a nice review way back in 2005, but tire models change and advance...

I also just recently got Michelin PSS and I am *thrilled* with them. Best performance tire I've ever had.
On top of performing really well, they are smoother and quieter than any other performance tire I've had before. And they seem to continue gripping really well at low temperatures compared to other performance tires I've had. On my old car I had Potenza S03s and later RE050A PPs and those things turned into blocks of ice at around 40F. I've driven the PSS tires through frost at 25F and they still gripped well. I wouldn't chance it much below that, but they are a good year-round tire for Seattle area (where snow is a rare occurrence).

I asked my dealer today and they said Hankooks if you want to save money and Yoko if you don't care. It's nice to read that the Hankooks work for you. I don't track the car so I think I'm just going to go with the Hankooks. Hopefully they'll last more than 10k miles.

Yes brand new. The deal is tooo good was to good to be true. I got a set of 305/30/19 and 235/35/19 nitto invo. This time it was true lol. This company had the best price, free shipping and if you bought 4 tires you get $40 off!!! They shipped next day and have fantastic servive. Way better than tire rack.

Usually I would ask the OP if their concern is budget or performance..
However, considering that a set of MPSS is $1176 (Tire Rack), I will have to agree with Lenelsa's eloquent "michelin super sports= no brainer"

Hankooks for me as well. Put new tires on at 22k, got 42k now and just replaced the rears. Only negative for Hankook is they need time to heat up. Run well and grip well though. Got both rears installed for $ 700.00 at Big O here locally. Save money and get performance.

The exact Yokohama's you're asking about came in 3rd. As is typical for Yokos, they tested loud, they were firm and they were expensive. Interestingly, not good in the wet. Best in dry conditions too. "[O]n average, the Yokohama ends up the winner, meaning more drivers go quicker with this tire than any other. They had better, for $199 apiece."
The Michelin Pilot SS's came in 1st. Check it:
