After being on the hunt for almost the entire year and 8 months of owning a 987 Boxster S, I finally found the 911 that motivated me to make the jump. Forty five days and 1200 joyous miles later I made a few mods and took some pics to share. Search criteria: Had to be black, less than 30k miles, heated/vented seats, Bose, 19" wheels & clear history. Preferred "S" model, Basalt Blk w/ black interior, Carrera S2 or Turbo 2 wheels, sport chrono, pwr seats, NAV, Bluetooth, no front plate, within 1000 miles of C Florida. Indifferent on PDK vs 6sp as this is a weekend car. Found: 2009 911 S Cab Black/Tan 26k miles CPO until May 2015 PDK Sport Chrono Heated/Vented seats Nav Bose Bluetooth XM Universal Audio 19" Turbo 1 wheels (not a favorite) dynamic lights sport steering wheel clear history located in Miami And I couldn't be happier! I was a little uneasy about tan interior and turbo 1 wheels but have grown to really like both (though I would still prefer turbo 2 wheels). I have found that I use the car more due to auto vs 6sp (though I occasionally miss shifting a true manual) along with the added comfort features of Nav, bluetooth, etc… that makes daily driving it much more comparable to my other 2 cars. The difference between this and the Boxster is hard to put into words. It may be the added power, wide rear end, back seats or simply knowing this is the flagship model and have been strongly marketed to my entire life. Either way it's exceptional! Mods since purchase: Changed out the side markers, added black floor mats, 7mm/15mm spacers, performed alignment, accidentally purchased 2 new rear Pirelli Rosso tires that will be up for sale soon, decided on Michelin Super Sport tires (front only, rears on backorder and arriving within 2 weeks), tinted windows to 35% & waxed with Zymol weekly.
