Help w/Battery cover under the hood...
Hey guys I recently opened the battery cover in the trunk and when I closed it, it wouldn't sit quite flush. I've tried many many times now (over an hour) to have both sides of the cover close/lock-in perfectly flush to the rest of the panels, but with no success. One side keeps sitting just a little bit higher
Is this something I should be worried about? I just don't know if water could get in under there if it's not perfectly closed and hence do damage under there.
Any input would be really appreciated.

Jhbrennan - the three tabs at the rear are all inserted properly, but I think this is part of the problem, because it won't sit perfectly in the rear right slot with the middle and left tabs sitting perfectly. I also did try seeing if the play with the adjacent covers was contributing, but doesn't appear to be the case.
The battery wasn't swapped out recently, I actually only opened to see what was under there in the process of looking for the Porsche tool kit in the trunk.

I've taken the battery lid on/off numerous times (for car stereo work), and I've never been able to get it to seat perfectly. I finally just gave up. If it's any reassurance, I don't think think the battery compartment is designed to be weather-sealed (whereas the frunk comparment IS sealed by the rubber gasket against the frunk lid.)

Gasnongasoff - that's what I was thinking too, no rubber seal so probably not as critical to have water completely out of it, but just thought since there's electrical things under there that it'd maybe need to be covered perfectly.

Mine does not sit perfectly too. No worries there. As everyone else has stated, it was not designed to be water tight. I did at one point also spend some time trying to align the thing. Wont be able to do it.

mine also does not sit flush. Not a problem. There are drains in that compartment so it is not designed to be water proof. It is important that those four (I believe) drain holes be cleared out every so often.
