How to remove intake resonator on 997.2 GTS. (pics)

Hi! My first post on this forum. Recently acquired a 4 GTS and i'm on a mission to make it louder. I heard of blocking the resonator, but all the discussions seemed to be for a different intake than the one in my car. Could be a .1 vs .2 thing?

Anyhow, pic below shows one similar to the one in my car (not my vehicle just link found online). Where is the resonator that I need to block? Any DIY info?

Any advice welcomed! Thanks!

I thought a GTS has the 3.8 engine? This shows a 3.6

Gts has the x51 3.8 dfi engine. I checked my airbox making sure that the panels were the screen type. Mine had plain plastic panels, changing the, made a big difference.

My point is that the picture in the thread is not a GTS

Thanks for info. The panels I have are white plastic. Is that what you mean by "Screen type" ? Thanks!

Interesting info I found:

"
While using the same basic 3.8-liter flat-six as a Porsche 911 Carrera S, modifications to the intake and exhaust systems help bump GTS-spec output from 385 horsepower to 405 ponies -- just 27 less than a 911 GT3. The secret of this extra muscle lies in a special resonance intake manifold that has six vacuum-controlled tuning flaps compared to just one in the Carrera S, a feature that permit real-time switching between power and torque-optimized geometry. While maintaining the same 310 lb-ft of max torque, these cylinder-specific micromanagers give this more potent six more efficient mid-range punch, yet have no impact on its fuel economy numbers.

Leave the GTs/997.2S air box alone. It is a great cold air box.

yes the white stuff is the screen type. if its plain black plastic then your in luck because there is a cheap upgrade awaiting you.
