Was on the interstate tonight and noticed a black murdered out Stingray with tinted windows that pulled up alongside of me in the next lane (there were 6 other lanes open) wanting to race. I tapped on the gas a bit because I knew he would take off and he did....I could hear his engine screaming over my music which was blasting with the windows up.

Just curious -- would he have embarrassed me if I would've entertained that quick challenge?

We were both already going about 75mph which was the flow of traffic...there were only like 2 cars on the road and they were behind us.

I really don't have time to be getting arrested for drag racing so I'll just have to wonder

He wanted to find out bad too....got right up on me to the point I HAD to look over.

 

i think knowing the answer was worth more than spending the night in jail...bad decision!

 

even if he had a lot more horsepower, it would have been diminishing returns for him as he accelerated from 75mph. You would have looked like you had 800hp by comparison, thats whats so wonderful about our 997's the don't push hard against the wall of air and therefore accelerate at high speed very well.

depends on year of corvette. Years ago I had a 67 vette, 427/390 with a hotter cam and solids and that thing was a beast, it was torque monster.
I don't think my Porsche would keep up with it, maybe over a 100 it might catch up.

 

The new Stingray is gorgeous! I cringe at the thought of pulling into a Chevy dealer for a service and they hand me the keys to a Volt! Regardless it will not be the same, although the car is bad ***.

 

Could be worse. You could take your Porsche in for service and get the keys to a Chevy Captiva handed to you. I would prefer the volt.
