Custom wide body build. Tuner style. Photos

They, along with just about every single piece for this custom body were
almost impossible finds. I stumbled across them from a friend of a friend.
Had to make a special silicone mold, then have them made of a high heat
resistant epoxy based material. I owed a big favor for these 4 pieces.

Ok... not the best photo. But it's all I could take at the end of the day.
Rims will NOT be chrome when finished. It doesn't look that much different
than it did from the photos I posted last week... but it is quite a bit better.
Fit & fitment is just about perfect.
Also it now has carbon fiber on rocker panel ducted inlets, the front bumper
(which you can't see yet) and little small wing piece (winglette?).

Little by little. Today nothing was done to it. BUT... it only needs to be sanded for paint now. Maybe install dash and seat before join to paint. We'll see. Hopefully it'll be painted by next weekend. I'll post photos if we install dash/seats etc... They look pretty nice, matching what the exterior's going to look like.

Was just thinking the same thing. Can't wait to see a few pictures

tweaks to the fitment of the fenders, hood & front bumper to make sure it all looks great & they all line up perfectly to
each other. When a part is moved a millimeter, it throws off alignment of ALL the other parts. It might not look like it
at first glance... but with this body style, all the parts are VERY difficult to line up and match each other perfectly. It's
much more complex fitting, than it looks. The opening of the door has to clear the front fender (inside the front fender
where it's an extremely tight area) etc... etc.. etc...
Anyway.... long answer. But it is very very close now. Hopefully we'll get the last bit of primer on it today, and do a bit
of final sanding tomorrow... then the red primer tomorrow.
After that, it's a simple matter of sanding the entire car down (wetsand) for the paint. Whew!! I can't wait!!

BOY! I apologize to anyone that read my last post, before this one. There's an auto-correct for
spelling, that is wreaking havoc on what I type. If I don't TOTALLY re-read what I wrote, it will
change words I typed, to a completely different word. I'm used to a red-line underneath a word
I spell incorrectly... then I go back & fix the misspelling. Instead this site picks a word that it thinks
you intended to spell. Making nonsense sentences. Nice. hehe
I have hopefully learned my lesson & will re-read each entry before posting. I am not writing while
drinking, in case anybody read my last post (before I corrected it). hehe

Unacceptable. Porsche owners are supposed to be perfect at everything they do. Spelling and grammatical errors are NOT allowed on this forum!
Seriously though, there was no need to apologize. I'm surprised you went back to review your post.

by the spelling checker. I couldn't have been off by THAT much. You guys would
have thought I'd-a-been smokin' my lunch if I hadn't changed it. ha

This photo might not look all that exciting to most people... but it is to me. The bumper
fit very nice when first installed. I'd say 98% "nice". Well, getting it to fit 99.9% "nice"
was quite a bit of work. Installing & removing, installing & removing. We finally have the
entire front-end fitting what I'd call 99.9% perfect. The front fenders fit the hood (& line
up perfect) as does the front bumper line up with the hood and fenders. What looked OK,
took us about 40 hours to get it looking VERY good. It's all about fitment, & body panels
lining up perfectly... and (I think) more time & patience than 99.9 percent of guys would
want to spend ( I call it craziness) hehe.
Oh well... it paid off. When the paint is on, it'll be worth all the the extra effort.

We painted to bottom of the hood and deckled/tail also. I love that color red.
The bottom of the hood is a better representation of what the color looks like in person.

Well, I thought I better post a couple photos of the front bumper fitting the fenders, after talking about it for a while now.
I wish the hood was on it, but the bottom of it is painted & it'll stay off the car till the car (& top of the hood) are painted.
The stance of the car, and front-end can finally be seen! Before taking the photos we should have popped the side marker
lights in and also the front LED's in the ducts (which look VERY nice).
