Custom wide body build. Tuner style. Photos
Hi Guys, I'm building a custom wide body, on my 2005 997. It started out as a regular narrow body, non turbo. I happen to like the super wild
looking german tuner Porsches. So decided to go wild on my car. I should have been taking photos of the entire process of the build, but have
been so busy with everything that I didn't. But will start the photo taking now. The car will hopefully be painted within the week. It'll be going
House of Kolors Kosmos red. A nice, very unique red... a bit on the dark side. In the sun the red is REALLY nice looking. Let the photos begin!!
Hopefully ya'll enjoy a bit of the behind the scenes... while the car looks like a dismantled "fixer". ;o)

Couple more bits of info. on the car: It started out as a nice perfect black on black 6 speed, with the sports chrono package. 19" Champion
Mesh style rims (sold them). The car was owned by the NFL FOX sports weather girl/lady, who is/was also the former channel 11 Los Angeles
news woman. Jillian Barberie Reynolds. The car is lowered with H&R coils, had tinted windows & had the iPod set up with hands free phone.
All the parts being used are carbon fiber composite. Hood, front bumper, rockers, door extension pieces, quarter panels rear bumper & tail.
The front fenders are a combo of factory front fenders modified with carbon fiber which forms that ducting area you see. Much work!
Rims that'll be going on the car, will be 19" Gemballa rims. Mesh style... like the Avalanches use. Black centers & chrome lip. Intentions are
to have carbon accents through out the car... applied to the tail (on its small add-on piece), the rocker panel air intakes, front bumper vent area
(in front of the hood), the mirrors, & a good amount of the CF in the interior.
Interior: UltraSuede covered dash with red deviated stitching, door panels & seats will have red diamond stitching. I ordered customized red gauges
and have the bezels painted red already (photos coming soon). A/C vents are Carbonfiber with red accented vent blades. Trying to get a bit wild on
the interior, to keep up with the looks of the exterior.

The rear bumper: I was probably the luckiest guy on the earth, the day I bought this bumper... out of Dusseldorf Germany. I bet it's the only one that's
popped up for sale, ever. I don't think that Gemballa sells this bumper separately. I've only seen them on the Avalanche. Needless to say, I scooped it
up immediately & had it shipped to me. $1200 for shipping... ridiculous, but I was at the sellers mercy. The bumper has a nice looking carbon fiber rear
diffuser panel that's not shown in this photo. We also altered the bumper, it to take the new(ish) LED tail lights... updating the tail lights from the 2005 style.
Fun fun!!

of their car (to see what it started out as) post the width. I never measured when we started this project.
Below is a photo from yesterday. Today, the car and all it's parts are primed in Valspar's 2K tint-able primer. I'll post a few new photos tomorrow... we
now have the front fenders, hood, rear bumper & tail, back on the car. Looking good in all red.

Done today. Bumpers & tail on. A few fitment issues that weren't there before ( a month or so ago). So a little
touch-up sanding and filling is going on (where the red is missing). All gaps gotta be perfect!! I'm on a mission.
Just noticed the slight surface rust on the rotors from hosing down the cement night after night. Doesn't take
much water to make them surface rust. A trip down the street when the car's finished will get that off quickly.
Hitting the brakes a few times.
No making fun of my "jack stands"... The car is super stable with the blocks. ;o)

Thanks much! It's fun, and crazy at the same time. No doubt. Here's a few more photos from tonight as I left.
